INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP MEAL WEATHER POLICY
Forecasted storms present a real dilemma for our kitchen staff because meal preparation normally begins on Tuesday or at the very latest early Wednesday morning--long before we would typically make the decision to cancel Wednesday activities. It is very expensive, not to mention wasteful, to prepare a meal and then have to throw it out because the church was closed. To minimize the potential loss, we have established the following policy:
Church Closed: Obviously, there will be no meal if Wednesday night activities are canceled.
County or City Schools Closed: If Rutherford County or Murfreesboro City Schools are closed or will be closing early due to severe weather, there will not be a meal even if church activities have not been canceled. Please note that this is a change in policy. We used to cancel the meal only if the city schools were closed. Now, we will also cancel the meal if the county schools are closed. This is a year round policy. (All reservations will roll over to the following week unless notified otherwise.)
Questionable Weather: If the threat of severe weather is real but the city schools remain open and we decide not to cancel Wednesday night activities, then a low-cost or freezer-friendly meal will be served.
